Slumdog Millionaire (2008)

The story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's "Kaun Banega Crorepati?" (2000) (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?) But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? The Messenger (2009) 400MB

While on a recent deployment to Iraq, US Army Staff Sergeant Will Montgomery is injured when an improvised explosive device goes off within close proximity to him. He is back in the States recovering from the more serious of those injuries, including one to his eye and leg. He has resumed a sexual relationship with his long time girlfriend Kelly, despite the fact that she is now engaged to another man who Will knows. With the few months Will has left in his enlistment, the army assigns him to the Casualty Notification Team in his area. Not having a background in counseling, psychology or grief management, he is unsure if he is well suited to this job. He is partnered with a career soldier, Captain Tony Stone, who teaches Will the precise protocol involved in the job. Tony tells Will, who quickly learns by on the job experience, that this job has its own dangers. As Will learns to adapt to the range of emotions of the next of kin, he is unprepared for the reaction of Olivia Pitterson, whose husband was killed in Iraq. His initial encounter with Olivia leads to him wanting to get to know her better, which may not be in either her or his best interest. Despite being a recovering alcoholic, the more experienced Tony tries to guide Will as best he can under their collective circumstances.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) BRip 500MB

Two soldiers stationed in Kazahkstan (Captain Duke Hauser and his partner only going by the name "Ripcord") were ordered to transport a special weapon created by the weapon corporation named "MARS" led by a man named McCullen. But they were attacked by a force led by Anastasia DeCobray (who that Duke has history with), but were saved by a top secret special forces unit only known as "G.I. Joe". The leader of G.I. Joe, General Abernathy (or Hawk) is on the trail of an evil organization known as "Cobra". Duke and Ripcord want to join the Joes to help them defeat Ana and Cobra. Meanwhile, McCullen is secretly working for Cobra and supplying the organization with the advanced weapons of his corporation, one of them includes the "Nanomite" warhead, that once activated can eat any metallic products. As Duke and Ripcord trace Ana to Paris where she plans on destroying the city and to test this new, dangerous weapon. Now, Duke must stop Ana and Cobra before they take over the world, and to prove that he is a Real American Hero.

CIRQUE DU FREAK: THE VAMPIRE'S ASSISTANT (2009)

A young boy named Darren Shan meets a mysterious man at a freak show who turns out to be a Vampire. After a series of events Darren must leave his normal life and go on the road with the Cirque Du Freak and become a Vampire.

Silky and sinister, the lighting and color make you believe there is some serious attention to the cinematography. Mixed with some great, clever lines delivered by preposterously quirky looking characters that no one in a non-freaky state of mind would want to meet in an alley, dark or otherwise, high expectations were created for dark spoof. And so, we get high levels of disappointment. The trailer shows only good parts, so that means someone knows whats good and bad. So if that someone is smart enough to recognize the bad parts and leave them out of the trailer, why weren't they smart enough to fix the bad parts in the movie? I give high marks for the acting from the seasoned performers, the special effects, and the darker backgrounds. The story, while I thought it had a great chance in the beginning, became far too convoluted.

The surreal naivety of the everyday non-freaks was bizarre to say the least but often fed the need for darker material. However, Steve and Darren were hard to stay with as their acting was school play quality. While I am sure they were following direction, their performances really killed the allure of this movie.

The Collector (2009)

Desperate to repay his debt to his ex-wife, an ex-con plots a heist at his new employer's country home, unaware that a second criminal has also targeted the property, and rigged it with a series of deadly traps.The film does start out slightly slow introducing the story elements that are only there for the sake of having a storyline... What follows, though, is about an hour of very suspenseful moments that will keep you guessing at what will happen next. There were very few moments in which I questioned what was happening on screen, and pretty much every element of the film was plausible and well thought out. There was a proper reaction for every action, something that doesn't always happen in a horror film.Another aspect I enjoyed was the killer... He's no invincible behemoth like Michael Myers, but he is intelligent and knows how to get the best out of those he is playing his game with. I loved the mask he had, and the contacts he wore that gave a really nifty effect to his eyes.

De Dana Dan (2009)

Wow, such a positive reaction from fans wasn't expected by me. Time for some serious bashing! Firstly, I went to see this flick only to cut gym session and oh boy was I wrong to do that! This movie is one of the worst and the most horrific I have ever seen in the sixteen short years of my life!

The whole movie is superficial and one-dimensional. Characters just enter and ext, without having much utility in the film. And on top of it, it was a comedy! I did not even smile or even give a forced laughter during the entire course of the film. Here are the reasons why:

The Finaldestination 4 (2009)

After a teen's premonition of a deadly race-car crash helps saves the lives of his peers, Death sets out to collect those who evaded their end.but i doubt this will be the final installment.these things are so cheap to make,what with their no name actors.maybe i'm just getting old,but i found myself bored out of my skull with this thing.i guess maybe i'm just not all that entertained by people dying in gross,disgusting ways anymore.that and i just found it all too absurd.not too mention the story is old hat.at slightly less than ninety minutes,this thing is slightly less than ninety minutes too long,in my opinion.for the fourteen to mid twenty crowd,i guess this might hold some value,and yes,it would have for me,at that age,and even beyond.until recently in fact.it's only been maybe two years since i realized i wanted more form my movie experience.one thing's for sure,when the next installment comes around,that's one destination i won't be going on.

Surinder is married to Taani but there is a huge age gap between them. There is no real romance in the marriage. Then, a dance reality show called "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" airs and Taani wants to participate but can't because her husband is not 'hip and happening', she has a fear of losing and she also fears that her friends will laugh at her. Surinder overhears this problem and decides to go in for a makeover. He watches some movies and learns to dance in order to woo his young wife. Throughout the show Taani keeps falling in love to with this 'new and improved' Surinder without once realizing that he's her husband.

In the mining town of Harmony, a drilling accident is caused by the son of the owner, Tom Hanniger. The mine collapses, burying six miners alive. Ten years later, Tom returns to Harmony after the death of his father. Tom has decided to sell the Hanniger Mine, and finds that Sarah has married Axel, who is now the local sheriff, and they have a son named Noah. On Valentine's Day, Harry Warden also returns, seeking revenge against those that had escaped his pickax in the past, and Tom is accused by Axel and other locals, who in turn makes accusations against Axel.

Troy: Director’s Cut (2004)

It is the year 1250 B.C. during the late Bronze age. Two emerging nations begin to clash after Paris, the Trojan prince, convinces Helen, Queen of Sparta, to leave her husband Menelaus, and sail with him back to Troy. After Menelaus finds out that his wife was taken by the Trojans, he asks his brother Agamemnom to help him get her back. Agamemnon sees this as an opportunity for power. So they set off with 1,000 ships holding 50,000 Greeks to Troy. With the help of Achilles, the Greeks are able to fight the never before defeated Trojans. But they come to a stop by Hector, Prince of Troy. The whole movie shows their battle struggles, and the foreshadowing of fate in this remake by Wolfgang Petersen of Homer's "The Iliad."

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004)

In 1939, an intrepid reporter in New York City makes a connection between the story she's covering-- of famous scientists suddenly disappearing around the world, and a recent attack on the city by giant robots. For the past three years, large robots have been roaming the Earth, taking what they need, and vanishing as quickly as they appeared. Joe and his technical assistant Dex have been investigating and battling these mysterious robots. Meanwhile, many of the world's scientists have been systematically kidnapped. A Dr. Jennings, believing that he is the next target, tells what little he knows to Polly. His beliefs are that a Dr. Totenkopf, who has not been heard from in over thirty years, is carrying out a project he started prior to World War I, this project which may be associated with these robots. Polly and Joe, with Dex, join forces to find Totenkopf, which may not be easy due to their still antagonistic relationship. As they piece together Totenkopf's plot, Polly and Joe realize that stopping him from carrying out his grand plan of creating his version of a Utopian society may not be as easy as killing him.

Damage (2010)

It has been done a million times before,but its a popcorn fun formula. This is the proving ground that I have been itching for with Stone Cold...the guy IS ready for big time action movies and this is his proving grade. If destiny and fate are true, he will get his time to shine in the world of big-budget ass-kicking cinema.

All the side actors/actresses did fine with what was needed.
There is no need to write a huge review on this. It isn't Kubrick or Lynch. Its a fun movie to watch to escape reality and watch some old-school action. If you enjoyed the old school Van Dammes & Seagals, you will dig this.

For fans of Retro-Action...this is highly recommended. VERY Fun...its not original,its been done and will be done again a thousand times,but it works with the right people involved,and this is that...

Assassin's creed Lineage

Bob Ho, a Chinese spy working with the CIA to stop a man named Poldark. He's been posing as an importer and has been dating his neighbor, Gillian, a single mother with 3 children. When Bob captures Poldark, he retires from the spy game. He wants to make a commitment to Gillian but her children are not exactly warming up to him. When Gillian has to go out of town Bob offers to take care of the kids while she's away, which proves to be no easy task. At the same time, Poldark somehow escapes. It's apparent that some in the Agency helped him. At the same time Colton one of Bob's associates at the CIA asks him to look at something that Poldark had on him that appears to encrypted, hoping he can crack it.When the children break into his home to see what they can find out about him, they find the file and download it. And when they try to open it, Poldark tracks it down and sends his people to take care of Ho. Bob manages to deal with them and then takes the children and goes on the run.

THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS

I'm going to say its definitely up there in the top few films I've seen at the cinema this year. It has been criticised for lacking more biting criticism of the US government, but I think people who are saying that are missing the point. It does have a fair bit to say about how stupid the US Military can be and how they like to blow money on obviously pointless ventures, but there is a whole other side to it.

The story concerns the first earth battalion U.S. Army who used paranormal powers. In the film, McGregor would give life to Bob Wilton, a desperate reporter who stumbles on his face with the story of Lyn Cassady (Clooney), a United States soldier. The two men will be directly related to the undercover unit that supposedly created these soldiers with paranormal powers. Meanwhile Bill Bridges will Django, mentor and founder of the program while Spacey is Larry Hooper, a soldier in a prison camp in Iraq.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

This is something you wouldn't want to miss. If you thoroughly enjoyed the first film, then this one is a darker adventure than the first one. Everything in Narnia goes totally out of control and tough to handle.

The film starts off with a Spanish group who have invaded Narnia and wiped out all the creatures living there. As it goes, the Pevensie kids are summoned to Narnia to fix up the wrong doings. A lot of conspiracy is thrown into the movie, but it feels like a plot well presented. It's pace is quick and starts right off not waiting to re-introduce everything again.

The cast is absolutely fantastic. The Pevensie kids, just like the last time, add the right amount of drama and humor to their respective roles. Especially Georgie Henley who plays Lucy is the standout yet again. But a worthy addition would also be Prince Caspian, played by Ben Barnes. He acts like a courageous and brave Prince born to lead an army. This is a good breakthrough for him. Also worth mentioning is King Miraz, a great villain since Tilda Swinton. As for a few cameo appearances you should also look out for, the performances are remarkable.

The other outstanding details I loved to see yet again in the film were the Cinematography, The Production Design, and Visual Effects. The shots were lavish and grand. Specially the Long shots, reminded me of The Lord Of The Rings. The Art Direction and the locations are astounding, very vibrant and unlike anything you would have ever seen in film. And of course the Visual Effects, those everlasting details adds another level entirely. You will love watching all this come together.

Even the action and battle sequences feel like a last stand to something no one can win. Its against all odds. You would cringe just because of the turn the film takes. It is filled with dark themes and more mature elements which would be a little hard to take. You might feel that the first one was pretty good. But give it another chance and you would feel this movie is just as good as the first.

Madagascar : Escape 2 Africa

The original Madagascar film was one of my favorite animated movies of the decade because it was very original and outright hilarious, in addition to having the most amazing penguins the world has ever seen. In the second installment, however, the screenplay is sacrificed for better animation, and while it looks good, the film doesn't carry itself well, despite having a very short runtime.

Our favorite zoo animals have been kicked out of New York and end up in Africa, where they quickly fit in with a pride of lions and other animals. Basically, from here, the film because formulaic, even for a children's animated movie. It's hard to believe they spent almost 3 years making this movie.

Avatar is a 2009 American 3-D science fiction epic film written and directed by James Cameron, and was released on December 18, 2009 by 20th Century Fox. The film is co-produced by Lightstorm Entertainment, and focuses on an epic conflict on Pandora, an inhabited Earth-sized moon of Polyphemus, one of three fictional gas giants orbiting Alpha Centauri A.

On Pandora, human colonists and the sentient humanoid indigenous inhabitants of Pandora, the Na'vi, engage in a war over the planet's resources and the latter's continued existence. The film's title refers to the Sanskrit word Avatar, a representation of a real person in a virtual world.

The film was released in 2D and 3D formats, along with an IMAX 3D release in selected theaters. The film is being touted as a breakthrough in terms of filmmaking technology, for its development of 3D viewing and stereoscopic filmmaking with cameras that were specially designed for the film's production.
